I devised and ran two activity weeks for local children, commissioned by the Council of the Isles of Scilly, in collaboration with archaeologist Marc Cox. The first explored the islands' Bronze Age past, focussing particularly on the prehistoric settlement remains at Halangy Down. The second looked at life on the islands during the First World War, including the development of sea planes.

Both weeks were packed with imaginative, participatory activities for children aged 7-14. Most events were outdoors and site-specific. They gave local children the opportunity to experience the history of their islands in fresh, fun ways that engaged their interest during the summer holidays. Children developed skills in understanding historic landscapes, problem solving and crafts, as well as gaining confidence and enjoying exploring the past with friends.
